Charm Games’ forthcoming release was measured against strict standards to ensure that human authorship was established and maintained throughout the game’s complex production. Certification allows Charm Games to display the ProudlyHuman™ trust mark on the game’s artwork and promotional materials. Its organization‑level certification also allows the studio to promote itself as the world’s first ProudlyHuman™ gaming studio.

At the recent Steam NextFest, players and industry insiders alike were concerned about the rise of AI in the industry. More than one‑in‑three of the approximately 8,000 demos submitted to the event featured generative AI disclosures. Game developers have expressed concern about creative ownership, while players have voiced their preference to participate in a level playing field in games developed by fellow humans.
“In partnering with Proudly Human, our goal is to cut through the noise and debate about AI use in game development with a clear standard for what makes a human‑created game,” said Alan Jernigan, Studio Director at Charm Games. “players have voiced disappointment with low quality and a lack of overall creativity with the use of generative AI.
